Ann Garrett
Paul was a dedicated and much respected member of many Bromley organisations. These included Bromley Peace Council and CND. He regularly attended meetings, the annual White Poppy Ceremony and Peace One Day events locally and the Conscientious Objectors Day and Hiroshima Day events in London’s Tavistock Square, holding the Bromley Peace Council and CND banners. Paul was also one of the founder members of the
Progressive Bromley Film Co-op helping make decisions on what films should be
shown.
The Friends of Bromley Town Centre Parks and Gardens group will miss his expertise as a professional geologist providing valuable information about rock structures and water beds. He regularly measured the water levels in the Church House Garden lake on the fortnightly walks and at other times. See photo below of Paul with Tony Banfield on a recent walk. He had a commendable knowledge of trees, plants and wildlife, and along with the rest of the group monitored the state of the parks on a regular basis.
We will miss his quiet and humble presence, his life experience and his commitment to working for peace.
